Research aim and objectives
Wind engineering, covering both experimental and computational fields
Supported by the “Fonds National de la Recherche, Luxembourg“ on Jun 1st 2020 I joined Stephane Bordas’ team as a PI of the DATA4WIND project
. My research interest lies in Wind Engineering, covering both Experimental and Computational fields.
Within this broad topic I focused on:
- Urban wind energy harvesting
- Wind effects on structures
- Bridge aerodynamics with a focus on various physical phenomena such as flutter, vortex shedding, etc.
- Data assimilation methods creating synergy between two wind engineering methodologies - experimental and computational wind engineering
Before coming to Luxembourg, I worked as Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Belgrade. In April 2014, I have completed doctoral studies in Wind Engineering at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany under the supervisor Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rüdiger Höffer. My thesis, funded by DAAD, contributed to a numerical set-up for the simulation of fluid-structure interactions of bridge girders. During my Magister studies (2004-2008) in Computational Engineering at the University of Belgrade, I developed a mathematical model and numerical code that analyzes loads on pile-mat foundation including soil-structure interaction. During my Master's studies in Structural Engineering, I worked on the numerical model and code that provides a dynamic analysis of buildings due to lateral loads.
In the same year 2019, the DATA4WIND project was also granted by H2020-MSCA-CAR-2019.
