Data driven surgical simulations
Saurabh received his integrated bachelor's and master's degree in mechanical engineering from IIT Madras, India. Currently, he is a PhD fellow in department of Computational and Data Sciences at the University of Luxembourg.
He is working towards the development of data-centric numerical models to simulate soft tissue cuts in real-time; with its particular applications for eye surgery. His project is supervised by Prof. Bordas and financed by The Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Training Network and also the H2020-EU.1.3.1. - Fostering new skills by means of excellent initial training of researchers through the RAINBOW project (Rapid Biomechanics Simulation for Personalized Clinical Design). The RAINBOW research objective is to realize the full potential of computational medicine and ICT to arrive at patient-specific simulation models that are rapidly set for a particular patient, are easy-to-use by clinical experts and do not require assistance from a technical team. Prior to joining team Legato, he worked as a Scientist/Engineer at Indian Space Research Organisation.
